Crown and Thorns



Sam Toogood purchased the freehold of the Crown & Thorns in 1986 using his gratuity from the Fleet Air Arm in which he served 21 years after leaving school in 1965.His departure from the Fleet Air Arm is shrouded in mystery but the name M & M Enterprises crops up in many of the rumours.

Sam is married to the counter of the public bar although he does have a wife who is seldom seen is the public areas of the Crown & Thorns. Sam has a micro brewery in a barn at the rear of the pub which is guarded by two pit bull terriers called Chuckles & Sampson.
